Congratulations, Mt. Zion, on a fabulous bazaar, October 10th.  No one froze but got lots of aerobic exercise chasing after then bending over to pick up bazaar items dancing in the powerful wind.  Many, many smiles, happy voices and children painting pumpkins.  We even had a picture in the Journal with the little ones hard at work on their pumpkins.  Yes!  A major success all around.  And, the building fund is now almost $1,000 richer.  The beautiful quilt went to one of our own--fair and square!

Resurrected Folding Chair

New Life brings in Building Fund dollars

Old Chair Rejuvenated Adds $$ to Building Fund!

Purchased somewhere between 1915 and 1920 (according to long-time member Jim Poisal), the old folding chair was resurrected to new life.  A parishioner spent many hours hand sanding and cleaning the chair and then giving it a fresh coat of stain.  Comfortable foam seat and back were added along with a modern collage of fabrics.

The chair was exhibited at the October bazaar and then sent off to the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival.  There it sold for $125.  One half of the sale price was donated to Mt. Zion's Building Fund.
